Recently, we’ve seen a concerning rise in clients falling victim to scams, losing their hard-earned money through malicious links, romance schemes, and social media fraud. What is most disheartening is that, in many cases, we could have helped prevent the fraud if only the client had communicated with us. Our goal is to equip you with the tools necessary to identify these threats before they cause harm. More importantly, we are here to serve as your financial bodyguards, offering our expertise to help safeguard your wealth.

Here are some examples and tools to protect yourself:

Computer scams:

Be extremely cautious with emails and pop-ups. Clicking on suspicious links can allow scammers to take control of your computer, often demanding payment or prompting you to call a fake support number. Never click on links from unknown senders, and always verify the email address—even if it appears legitimate. If prompted to call a number, don’t use the one provided—look up the company independently. If your computer appears compromised, don’t share login credentials. Instead, please take it to a reputable IT professional to check for malware. Remember, scammers often create a sense of urgency, appear credible, and ask for personal information or money.

Romance scams or affinity fraud:

As human beings, we’re wired for connection—but scammers know that too. Be especially cautious with online relationships. If someone you’ve never met in person begins asking for money, it is a major red flag. No matter how convincing or emotional the story may seem, always discuss it with someone you trust before sending money.

Look out for scams. And if you see any potential at all that you may be a target, contact us right away. We have seen countless fraud attempts in various forms. Our experience can help protect you. Don’t navigate fraud schemes alone, and don’t let hesitation turn into regret. We are here to be your financial bodyguards.
